Playful Pomodoro — Privacy Policy

Playful Pomodoro (the "App") is developed by Playful Dolphines. This document explains what data is processed while you use the App.

No accounts; your content stays on your device

The App does not create any user account. Your focus (Pomodoro) history, the task names you choose, your XP, levels and badges are stored only on your device, in the App's local database and preferences. This content is never sent to the developer, to Google, or to any other third party.

Usage analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase)

To understand how the App is used and to improve it, the App uses Google Analytics for Firebase, a service provided by Google. It collects the following anonymous usage data:

• App interactions: which screens are opened (Pomodoro, statistics, rewards), and when focus sessions are started, paused, reset or completed, together with the session duration setting.
• Device or other identifiers: a random app-instance ID generated by Firebase. It is not your name, email, phone number or advertising ID.
• Approximate location: country or city, derived by Google from your IP address. Precise (GPS) location is never collected.
• Basic device and app information: such as device model, Android version, language, app version and session length.

This data is sent to Google over an encrypted (TLS) connection and is processed by Google on the developer's behalf. It is not linked to your identity, not sold, and not used for advertising. Collection of the Android advertising ID is disabled in the App. Google's handling of this data is described in Google's Privacy Policy and in how Google Analytics for Firebase collects data. Analytics data is kept for the retention period configured in Google Analytics and then deleted automatically.

No ads

The App shows no advertising and contains no advertising SDK.

Internet connectivity

All images and sounds are bundled with the App; nothing is downloaded from the internet at runtime. The App uses the internet connection only to send the analytics data described above, and works fully offline.

Permissions used

• Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): used to show the status of your focus session — remaining time and completion — on your device.
• Vibration (VIBRATE): used to give haptic feedback when a session completes.
• Exact alarms (USE_EXACT_ALARM, SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM): used so the App can notify you at the exact moment your focus session ends, even when the device is idle. This is the App's core function as a timer.

None of these permissions grants access to sensitive data such as precise location, contacts, camera or microphone. The internet and network-state permissions are added by Google Analytics for Firebase to send the analytics data described above.

Deleting your data

Your focus history, tasks, XP and badges live only on your device: uninstalling the App — or using Android Settings → Apps → Playful Pomodoro → Storage → Clear data — permanently deletes them. Clearing data or reinstalling also resets the analytics app-instance ID. To request deletion of analytics data already collected, email playfuldolphines@gmail.com.

Children's privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them. The analytics described above contain no names, email addresses or other contact information.

Changes to this policy

If this privacy policy is updated, the current version will be published on this page and the "last updated" date at the top will change.
